QIP is a national programme of the Ministry of Human Resource Development for providing higher education opportunities to faculty of engineering colleges. The programme operates at 25 engineering/technological  institutions (referred to as QIP Centres, of which 8 are major centers and 17 are minor centres) and is administered by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The programme facilitates

• Pursuing M.Tech. and Ph.D by teachers of AICTE recognized engineering colleges.

• Conducting Short Term Courses on different subjects of interest to teachers of AICTE recognized Engineering.

Faculty members of IIT Kharagpur interested in offering the QIP or self financed short term courses may contact Dean, Continuing Education for details regarding financial support and modalities. Further details on QIP including admission and stipend information may be obtained from the web site maintained at the national coordinating institute or from the QIP coordinators at major QIP Centres.
