Advanced research on modeling of nutrient uptake from soil and mathematical simulation of the processes of nutrient mobilization, nutrient transport in the plant, and rural technologies were undertaken to solve the basic problems of nutrient management in crop production and to improve the economy of rural people. The outcomes of the research are demonstrated in farmers’ field for sustainable agricultural production and rural livelihood improvement.
An outstanding approach for technology demonstration in mission mode approach. Integrated Planning with multi-disciplinary including socio-economic aspects was the main objective at the demonstration site. The participatory approach of Public Private Participation (PPP) Model, creation of permanent water resource-ground water exploitation and development of cropping pattern will certainly be of immense use for livelihood of the farmer. The project has created the impact in the mind of farmers in the village that such an approach is the only solution to the growth of our sustained agricultural and drudgery reducing rural technologies.
Rural technology has been transferred to 30 NGOs and currently working with more than 40 NGOs in the eastern region of India.
Implementing of Rural Technologies project have eliminated the drudgery in the life of rural women and increased the production. Some examples are Muri machines increased the production 10-15 times. Mechanized dhenki for paddy processing increases the productivity by 5 times. Grass roping machine increased the rope making by 15 times. Potter wheel raised the production by 7 times.
