Research Areas

  • FRA Diagnostics of Power Transformer
  • Electromagnetic Field Computation
Research activities in our group are in the broad area of monitoring and diagnostics of HV power apparatus. The main focus is the establishment of new methods to extract the information embedded in the frequency- and time- domain response of transformer winding and utilize them to suggest new and interesting applications. Another focus of our research work is also on FEM based simulation for design, modelling and analysis of the following equipment (i) high frequency transformer and inductor and (ii) high voltage polymeric insulators.

My proposed research plan includes-

1. Fault Diagnostics of 3-Ph Transformer using FRA/SFRA
2. Modelling of 3-Phase Transformer and Impulse Behavior Analysis
3. FEM based simulations for design, modelling and analysis of high frequency transformer, inductor and high voltage polymeric insulator
4. Detection, Recognition and Localization of Partial Discharge in Power Transformer
