Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur wishes to recognize its alumni for providing outstanding service to the Institute. The Distinguished Service Awards 2018 will be conferred during the 16th Annual Alumni Meet in January 2019.
The following aspects will be considered among possible others while assessing the roles and contributions of the Nominee:

jointly announce admission to the 2019 – 2021 Batch and invite application to the
POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN BUSINESS ANALYTICS (PGDBA)
PGDBA is a two year full time diploma program aimed at creating business analytics professionals who can fill the talent gap in this area for multinationals and reputed domestic companies.
Minimum Eligibility Criteria for PGDBA:
A candidate must hold a graduate/post graduate degree with any of the following: 10+2+4/10+2+5/10+2+3+2 with a Minimum of 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale in the Qualifying Degree(i.e. B Tech/B.E./ M.Sc./M.Com. or Equivalent). For SC/ ST and Person with Disabilities (PwD) category candidates, the qualifying marks for eligibility shall be 55% or CGPA 6.0 on a 10-point scale.The CGPA will not be converted into percentage marks,even if the degree awardingInstitute provides marks in CGPA system. Their admission will be based on the CGPA awarded in thetranscript. If the CGPA is on a different scale other than 10, the eligibility of the candidates will becalculated corresponding to the equivalence stated above.Candidates, who are in the final year, are also eligible to apply providedtheyappear in the final examinationand complete other academic requirements as specified above by May 31, 2019.For such cases, admission will be provisional subject to submission of final mark sheet by 31st Oct, 2019
Written Test and Personal Interview:
A written test will be held on February 17, 2019, and candidates shortlisted after the written test will be called for personal interviews to be held during March 30-31, 2019.
Proposed cities for Written Test and Personal Interviews are: Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai.
As per the Government of India stipulations for SC/ST/OBC-NCL and Person with Disabilities (PwD)candidates.
Application fee of Rs.2,000/- for UR/OBC-NCL categories and Rs. 1,000/-for candidates belonging to SC/ST/ PwD categories should be paid via the Payment Gateway on the Online Portal of IIT Kharagpur

Prof. Baidurya Bhattacharya, Professor, Department of Civil Engineering elected as Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Prof. Indranil Manna, Professor, Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering has been selected for the National Metallurgist Award 2018 of the Ministry of Steel, Government of India.
Prof. Partha Pratim Chakrabarti, Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering and the Director of the Institute is being honored with D. Sc. (Honoris Causa) by University of Kalyani, West Bengal in their 29th Annual Convocation.
The Vigilance Awareness Week shall be observed by the Institute during 29th October to 3rd November 2018. The central theme for observation of Vigilance Awareness Week, 2018, as chosen by Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) is “Eradicate Corruption – Build a New India”.
Young Innovators’ Program is a platform to foster young minds with scientific enthusiasm and a credo to solve the problems facing the globe. IIT Kharagpur with a motive of recognizing students with creative ability to conduct scientific research has for the first time launched this program. In a two day visit to IIT Kharagpur, the students will get a chance to explore the scientific environment within and an opportunity to present their projects in front of distinguished researchers and guests.

Indo-German Workshop on Intelligent Mobility
The Indo-German Collaborative Research Center on Intelligent Transportation Systems is a collaborative research initiative between IIT Kharagpur and TU Munich. The Center aims to establish collaborations at both academic and industry levels between Germany and India for developing next generation transportation technology suitable for Indian cities and to create an ecosystem in India that is conducive for the German and Indian Industry.
As part of this initiative, we are organizing a two-day workshop at IIT Kharagpur on Oct 29-30, 2018, partially supported by IGSTC and TU Munich. The aim of the workshop is to network with mobility stakeholders for identifying: (A) the research agenda of the center, (B) the collaborative partners, and (C) the schemes for long-term sustainability of the center.
