I earned a Ph.D. degree from the University of Cambridge, UK, and a Post-Doctorate from IPGP, France, and Univ. of Oslo in marine geophysical studies. Global warming and Climate change are likely to have severe impacts globally in general, and more particularly in the coastal areas that are densely populated. My research interests are inclined towards studying the impacts of changing climate and sustainability such as sea level rise, seawater intrusion in coastal areas, groundwater quality, coastal hazards, seismic hazards, landslides, GLOFs, and search for alternate energy resources such as geothermal energy which has relatively lesser carbon footprints. We use integrated geological and geophysical non-invasive techniques, machine learning, besides using remote sensing products and satellite data.
I teach theory and lab. courses related to Tectonics, Climate, Hydrogeology, Resource Exploration etc.
We have several observational instruments such as Geodetic grade GPS receivers and antennae, and Very Low Frequency - EM for subsurface resistivity estimation and broadband seismometers in our lab. for in-situ measurements.
