Dr. Jayanarayanan Kuttippurath is a climate scientist and has been doing research in the field of Chemistry-Climate interactions for the past 24 years. He has his Ph.D. from the University of Bremen, Germany, and Habilitation Degree (D. Sc.) from the University of Pierre and Marie Curie Paris 6, France. His Ph.D. is in Microwave Remote sensing of Atmospheric Chemistry, and his D. Sc. thesis is on the interactions between polar ozone loss and climate change. He has 15 years of international research and teaching experience. Dr. Kuttippurath has working experience with several weather (WRF), climate (LMDZ), ocean (ROMS), chemistry-climate (MIMOSA-CHIM, LMDZ-REPROBUS) models. He has also worked with different ground-based spectrometers and airborne radiometers. He has been using various surface, air, and satellite measurements for his research on different aspects of atmospheric chemistry and climate connection; including atmospheric pollution and its impact on climate, ocean-biogeochemistry, agriculture and health. Numerical model development to aid his on-going research and gridded data development for different trace gases for the Indian region are also performed. He has about 152 international peer-reviewed articles in high-impact journals, such as Remote sensing of Environment, Environmental Science and Technology, Science of the Total Environment, Journal of Cleaner Production, Environmental Pollution, Chemosphere, Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics, Geophysical Research Letters, npj Climate and Atmospheric Science, OLAR and Journal of Atmospheric Science. He has done commendable works on the ozone trends and variability in the Polar Regions, and his contributions towards understanding the chemistry and dynamics of polar ozone are well appreciated by the scientific community. He is also one of the editors of the prestigious journals Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics (Impact factor 6.3) of the European Geosciences Union, and the Nature-Frontiers Journals of Frontiers in Environmental Science and Frontiers in Marine Science.
