My research contributions primarily fall under the empirical research in the fields of safety analytics, quality analytics, and engineering ergonomics. A few of the contributions are mentioned hereunder based on the publications, theses supervised, and research projects executed. From the research conducted so far on safety analytics, the contributions made so far are: (i) development of sustainable safety management system, (ii) innovative use of Weibul control charts for monitoring hazards, (iii) development of key indices for safety assessment, (iv) development of a new concept called work system safety capability, (v) evaluation of interactions during accident occurrences, (vi) estimation of loss of accidents, (vii) evaluation of intervention effectiveness in accident/injury prevention, (viii) testing the generation five theory of accident causation, (ix) empirically validating work compatibility theory, and (x) development of safety function deployment. In quality analytics, the contributions made so far are: (i) a scheme for integrated data analysis in supply chain, (ii) an empirical evaluation of Multiblock partial least squares (MBPLS) and Mahalanobis Taguchi System (MTS), (iii) development of fault diagnostic statistics for stage-wise and variable-wise contribution in process monitoring, and (iv) measuring robustness in serial multistage manufacturing system. From engineering ergonomics point of view the contributions made so far are: (i) development of modified CUBE model for ergonomic exposure assessment for MMH workers, and (ii) experimental evaluation of muscle effect model for MMH workers.

My present research interests include occupational safety and health analytics, quality analytics and virtual reality based accident modeling and simulation. Our current major project entitled "Safety Analytics: Save people at work from accidents/injuries" deals with predictive analytics of occupational accidents, assessment of occupational health and virtual reality based accident modeling and simulation for Tata Steel Jamshedpur.
