My research interest lies in River, Ocean and Coastal Engineering, which encompasses various disciplines and expertise focused on studying and understanding coastal. marine environments and inland waterways. With a strong academic background and diverse experience spanning academia and industry, I aim to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in understanding coastal processes and developing sustainable solutions for coastal management and resilience.
My doctoral and postdoctoral research have primarily centered around the hydrodynamics and sediment transport dynamics in coastal and estuarine environments. Specifically, I have investigated the impact of ship-generated waves on sediment resuspension and bank erosion, employing a combination of field measurements, numerical modeling, and laboratory experiments. These studies have provided insights into the complex interactions between hydrodynamics, sediment dynamics, and morphological changes in coastal areas, crucial for predicting and mitigating coastal hazards.
Moving forward, I am committed to advancing research in coastal engineering and oceanography, with a particular emphasis on addressing emerging challenges such as sea-level rise, coastal erosion, and extreme weather events. My research interests encompass a range of topics, including ship-generated waves, sediment transport, the impact of climate change on coastal hydrodynamics, tidal and extreme event analysis, fluid-structure interaction, scour profile analysis, shoreline and bed morphodynamics and estuary hydrodynamics, among others. I am keen on fostering collaborations in research projects focusing on hydrodynamics and sediment transport in coastal environments, employing experimental and numerical modelling techniques.
