My research focuses on understanding and predicting the fate and transport of contaminants in groundwater systems using physics-based modelling. My previous research has advanced the mechanistic understanding of contaminant transport in heterogeneous porous media through temporal moment analysis, sensitivity analysis, uncertainty quantification, and reactive transport modelling. These studies have revealed information about contaminant plume evolution and governing factors.

The focus of the Hydro-Environment Systems Group will be on understanding changes in water systems through experiments/field-scale observations, artificial intelligence techniques, and process-based models and assessing their impacts on the environment and well-being of populations directly or indirectly exposed to the stresses from local to regional scales.

Through interdisciplinary collaborations, we aim to develop scalable modelling frameworks that support sustainable water resource management, protect ecosystems and public health, and inform evidence-based environmental policies.
