Dr. C. Nahak is working as an Associate Professor of Mathematics at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India. He joined the institute as an Assistant Professor in 2003. He received his M. Sc. and M. Phil. in Mathematics from Utkal University Bhubaneswar. He received his PhD degree from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India in 1997. He was working as an Assistant Professor at NIT Rourkela (2002-2003), respectively. Dr. Nahak has been awarded the BOYSCAST fellowship from the DST Government of India for pursuing postdoctoral research in the field of Numerical Optimization in Old Dominion University, USA (1998-99). He awarded the Young Scientist Award (Physical Science) of Government of Odisha in year 2002. His field of research areas includes, Applied Functional Analysis and Optimization, Fractional Calculus, VI, CP, EP, Set valued Optimization and Optimization Problems on Manifolds. Dr. Nahak has published 80 research papers in field of in reputed journals. He has completed three research project funded by DST, CSIR, Govt. of India. He has supervised six PhD and about 15 Master [M. Tech and M. Sc.] dissertations. The following significant contributions are made by Dr. Nahak (i) obtain special kind of inequalities, namely Hardy type inequalities for discrete and continuous cases and Opial type inequalities for fractional order derivatives. (ii) obtain symmetric and other duality (single and higher) results of optimization under most general conditions on the primal functions. (iii) obtain some new results on unconstrained reformulations of constrained optimization problems. (iv) obtain significant results of the existence and uniqueness solutions of optimization problems in semi inner product space. (v) establish some existence results of various types of VI and EP under generalized invexity and generalized monotonicity assumptions on Riemannian manifolds. (vi) presently working with solutions of set valued optimization, and use of Zabreiko’s lemma.
