At SRLab we ask the question : How does structural arrangement and coupling of parts in a material give rise to properties that the individual parts do not possess? For example, directed energy flow in a heterostructure, transfer of optical chirality at a hybrid interface, and charge localisation in deformable ionic structures. We use the techniques of ultrafast and quantum optical spectroscopy to observe these phenomena directly.
