Our group involves in the research activities of chemical sensors employing nano-materials as sensing layer. The group mainly focuses on (i) Nano-material synthesis (particularly metal oxides) and their functionalisation (ii) 2D layered material synthesis (GO, MoS2, WS2 etc.) (iii) using these materials to develop highly sensitive and selective gas sensors. Efforts are being made to develop sensors which can work near room temperature so that low power sensors can be developed. We develop sensors on CMOS platform so, the sensors and their interface electronics will be on the same silicon die. Also we are interested to develop sensor on flexible low cost substrate. Apart from chemical sensor the group is interested in highly sensitive resistive humidity sensor. The group is also working on CMOS-MEMS based sensors (e.g. thermal accelerometer).
