  • Development Economics
  • Natural Resource Economics
  • My research focuses on the sustainable use and management of natural resources, exploring their economic and livelihood impacts, particularly in India and surrounding regions. My expertise spans critical areas such as water, energy, biodiversity, and climate change, and I have over 20 years of research experience in these fields. My work often addresses development economics, with a focus on environmental policy, resource management, and community-based conservation strategies. I have published four books and numerous research articles in international journals and book chapters, contributing to both theoretical and policy-oriented studies. In addition, I have undertaken 23 research and consultancy projects sponsored by Indian and international funding agencies. I am also deeply interested in broader areas of research, including human behavior, inner development, and the role of economics in achieving sustainable production and consumption for a livable planet.
