My research unfolds at the vibrant intersections of Poetry, Translation, Gender and Postcolonial Studies, where the delicate threads of language, culture, and identity intertwine. My academics is rooted in an intangible space between word and silence, where echoes of history and whispers of mystery converge to materialise poetry that has the potential to ferret the magical out of the mundane. As a seeker of poetry, I enjoy experiencing such moments of sheer verbal magic and further explore with wonder how a poem, often, exists in the delicate yet dynamic dialectics of moods, melodies, sounds, sense and rhythm; and how in its fragile, unstable and volatile state, it breathes life into language, wherein words become mantras capable of bringing about inner tectonic shifts in individuals and the collective consciousness of societies alike!
My work, thus, is a deep engagement with words, exploring in the process, their power to illuminate, challenge, and transform through their multiple avatars of poems, plays, short stories and novels. Hence, in my writings, lectures, and collaborative projects, I strive to kindle a passion for the profound connections we forge through literature, inspiring scholars and students to delve into the boundless possibilities of the written word! Through this journey, I traverse through the rich narrative terrains of Indian literatures, uncovering voices that resonate across both local and global landscapes, standing as a testament to our shared human experiences. Towards realising these academic ventures, I embrace translations, weaving bridges across linguistic and cultural chasms, allowing the intricate beauty of Indian literatures and poetics to illuminate new tongues and distant shores.
