Computer Science and Engineering

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering was established in 1980. Every year, the Department admits about 90 BTech students, 60 Dual Degree students, and 70 MTech students. Currently there are 42 faculty members, 14 staff members and around 100 PhD students and 40 MS students.The department has a thriving research environment with active research groups in the areas of Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence, Bioinformatics, Complex and Social Networks, Machine Learning, Data and Web Mining, Natural Language Processing, Formal Methods, Cryptography and Network Security, Software Engineering, and Systems and Networking.We have a vibrant body of research students. Our students have been very successful and have won many accolades in the recent past. Many of them have obtained prestigious external fellowships, various best paper and best thesis awards. The Department is engaged in many significant research projects sponsored by the government and industry engaged in high end research and development activities.Graduates from the department at all levels secure excellent placements. A large number of our Alumni have made their mark in different careers. Many of them occupy top positions in both academia and industry all over the world, and quite a number of them have founded successful enterprises. Read less
